About Access
Facebook works with some of the most talented people in the world to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Creating economic opportunity for our neighbors is a pillar of our community engagement efforts. With the Access at Facebook Program, we empower local communities—East Palo Alto, North Fair Oaks, Belle Haven, and throughout the Bay Area—in skill development, economic engagement, and advocacy for local candidates.
There are several ways we support the robust and diverse communities around our campus. Learn more below about our current offerings.
Access Means Success
“Through this program, I was given the opportunity to restart the lives of not only myself, but my children. The Access experience is one that I treasure and will hold near and dear to my heart forever.”

Get Hired Workshop Series
Our Get Hired Workshop Series was curated to showcase the talent and drive of our local residents. During each workshop, local residents discuss how the diversity of their experiences can be channeled to enhance and enrich Facebook’s mission, all while providing economic opportunity for the local community for generations to come.
Drawing upon the feedback we received from real Facebook interviewers, we developed a curriculum designed to empower residents to be “interview-ready,” preparing them to approach any application process with clarity and ease for enhanced success.

Candidate Virtual Connect
Candidate Connect supports local residents if they apply to jobs at Facebook. Local communities provide a unique perspective on Facebook’s relationship with its neighbors, and we draw upon this strength to make sure individuals are thoughtfully considered for employment opportunities.
Year Up + Access at Facebook
We partner with a nationally-renowned organization, Year Up, to support local youth who often face barriers when applying to college and top companies. At the Facebook on-campus Community Hub, Year Up has a learning and development center, providing five months of in-class learning and six months of internship experiences. With Year Up’s assistance, we build the foundation not only to obtain employment, but also to thrive as an employee.
Access Means Success
“Bernita (of Access) really cares about her community, the candidate and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a seamless journey when applying to Facebook”
